April is nearly here!

Hi guys, Danice here and along with April comes Easter, not too much fanfare in this household with easter, but I am sure that will change by this time next year!

First up I have a bright and cheerful easter layout, with a gorgeous wee model learning how to eat an easter egg.. her mum calls these photos "faceplanting the easter egg" I'm just glad I wasn't on clean up duty!
I used a small frame that I gesso'd and then stuck some wee heart stickers all over it to make it really stand out, added some lovely swallows to add dimension and away it went!

I'm a big project lifer as well and was challenged by a group to follow a couple of "recipes" to create some of my own Project Life cards, and Memory Maze products make it SO easy to do,

First day of.....
These words originally said "First day of school" but I really wanted to use these because they fit perfectly for my 2014 PL title page, So I easily separated the school word painted the rest black and voila! and now I can use the School word on another project too - such a simple way to get more use out of one embellishment!
March, the spring blossom again fit perfectly along the 4x6 card, with plenty left over for other projects, this one I covered with perfect pearls just to give it a bit of shimmer to match the other pinks I've used on the card.
April title card, using my fave things washi and Memory Maze with a bit of lace thrown in for good measure! I coloured the chipboard in silver sharpie and then glued it to a backing card, next step was kindy glitz and painting with H2O's and shimmerz and then finally topped off with glossy accents to give it a glassy look.

and last by definately not least,
This is a bit cute,  it is the first layout I have done for my own baby, we can certainly say this child is going to be well scrapped! I used some heart flourishes again cutting them so the one that fits best can be used, I love the font and size of BABY here too, really suitable for any layout or PL page!

Here you can see the close up of the flourish heart tucked into the flower cluster.

Thanks for looking at my makings, and no doubt you will see many more baby layouts in the coming months!!

A little clowning around with Linda

Hi everyone Linda back again today

Sticking with our March theme of circus and fairs

" A little clowning around"

Miss DD 11 had to dress up for a circus performance at the end of last year, so these photos came i handy for this months theme.

Lots of MM flowers have been used in small clusters throughout the page.

An elephant from the circus set has been painted in gesso then a script stamp used to help is look like the background paper, along with a little ink on the edges.

Wow word was painted in gesso then viva paint rubbed on with  my finger gives it a beautiful shine

Small clown from the circus set was painted in gesso then inked in yellow and red.

Balloon was treated the same way as the elephant

Micro bike covered in gesso then inked and the 2013 treated the same as the wow work but was not totally covered in blue this time.

Memory Maze products used

Micro bike
2013 title
Circus set
small air balloon
wow word
selection of flowers & blooms

"Stack'ums Overload"

Memory Maze is not all about the chipboard they have an amazing array of card sheets called Stack'ums, so I thought i would demonstrate how easy they are to use.

Take a sheet cut it up, add foam dots to the backs of the small pieces and layer onto the background image, add to a card and ink around the edge, all done but why stop there you can also add your fav embellishments to jazz them up.

Here you can see some of the layers, this card has quite a few layers.

Where as this one and the next only have a couple of layers.

Add some lace or ribbons for decoration.

Mannequin was first covered in gesso then a number of different spray inks were used and dried quickly to create the water affect.

New mini chandeliers and clocks treated the same as above only with different colour combos.

Alicia's March DT reveal

Today I am sharing my very first round of DT projects based on our monthly theme of circuses, rides, parties and carnivals. We are not really circus people so much, but we love carnivals and rides.

"Treasured Moments"

This first layout shows photos of us riding the beautiful carousel at Disneyland in Hong Kong a few years ago. I have blended blue and yellow gelatos to colour the chipboard frame.

Memory Maze products used:
Treasured Moment title
treasured moment 120 x 35 sold in 3\'s
Frame: Fields of flowers
J13 Frame fields of flowers 150 x 150mm

"Carnival wall hanging"

Next up is a carnival themed wall hanging made with an oval memory box and a gorgeous carousel horse chipboard piece along with Ruby Rock-It Carnival Queen collection. For this project, I simply inked it white before covering it in super fine glitter and just let in shine in its simplicity. The box itself has been painted in gesso and texture paste with some stippling and some glitter and micro beads added for extra texture.

Memory Maze products used:
rocking horse

Memory Box Oval
Flourish
Flowers:
Pink cosmos blossoms

"This Moment"

My final project is beyond the page/ layout hybrid. I have used a 12x12 butterfly chipboard piece as a background on which to build the layout. The trick with these pieces is building the page without compromising the delicate design of the background. I have tried to achieve this by using minimal paper and small flower embellishments.
