Pocket Project Layouts and Something a Little bit Sweet - Donna O'leary

Hello all, you might want to go pop the jug on and make a cuppa before you continue reading today,  I'm very sorry but this post is photo heavy which I am sure you will not mind.  I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and have been spoiled :-)

Today I am sharing two projects with you all.  I have had lots of fun making these and its great to get back in the craft room.  Right time to pop your feet up with you cuppa and enjoy :-)

My Sweet Ruby

I started off making this project with the new Bloom paper range from Prima,  I cut the flowers out of a second page so I could have extra.

For my center piece I have used Memory Maze Vintage frame and embossed the entire frame with WOW bright white embossing powder,

I also found some sweet Memory Maze Butterfly Chippies which I embossed with a number of colourful glitter embossing powders, made them 3D and added some yummy Flourish with a Bling Pearls to the center of them

Here you can see some of the extra flowers I stamped and cut out from Kaiser craft poppy stamps,  I have coloured them in with H20 paints. In this photo you can also see the Memory Maze Corner Swirl which I have embossed in a white glitter and then cut to add more dimension to my layout.

Don't the butterfly's look yummy.  You can see the leaves that I cut and stamped here to

oh look at all that flourish with a bling pearls, I took this photo to show you all the layers, and the 3D effect of the butterfly's.  I love how this layout has turned out and will need to get a frame to pop up on the wall.

Christmas pocket page layouts

I am new to pocket pages and are finding my way around them,   I love the idea behind them to share all the photos I take threw out the year.  As you could imagine I take a lot of photos and for many years they just sit in big piles.  So my mission this past year has been to scrap them.  Its a completely different style to what I am used to but I am sure I will find my feet.  Memory Maze chipboard is perfect for this type of scrapbooking as they are not to big to add them to your page.  I have included the whole page and then took a photo of the close up to show you how I have used them.

Christmas 2013

For the first page I have embossed Christmas Joy Noel Memory Maze Chipboard.  This took a while as I used four different embossing powders from Wow Embossing Powders to colour it.

The little Christmas tree has been embossed in a green and then I glued some small sparkles to it and added some twine.

These wee Christmas Presents are from  Christmas tree with presents and I have removed the presents and embossed and used a permanent marker for the detail.

Second Page

These are such cute little Reindeer, again I have embossed them in two different colours.  You can do lots with chipboard to give them detail,  I love embossing powders as it gives them stunning colour and texture.  Another way you could colour them is with paint, ink, and then apply a thin layer of glossy ascents to give it some shine

Page Three

Well this bell was trick and thinking about it afterwards it would of been better to paint,  But who can resist a good challenge.  I a have added enamel dots for detail.

Page Four

I have embossed 3 Memory Maze Chipboard words with a bright red glitter embossing powder,  The Always is actually a word that comes with butterfly's on it and did not suit the Christmas theme, so i used a craft knife and cut them off.

Well I hope you enjoyed my share today and I have inspired you to get your crafty products out and have some fun.  Happy Scrappin every one xox Donna

Amanda Lawrence - December Part 2

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families and loved ones. There is so much that goes into the lead up and then the whole day can just whizz by in the blink of an eye.

I'm back to share another project using some of the lovely Christmas pieces that Memory Maze has available.

Daddy & Me

There are just so many photos taken on the day and the lead up activities, it's really hard to choose which to scrap. I like to keep the layouts simple and {try} not to put too much time into them.

I've used the 'Daddy & Me' for my title. I started with a coat of white gesso and then highlighted the edges with a silver gel pen.

The Christmas Tree got a base coat of gesso too. The red was first done with a brush marker but it went a little pink so I went over the top with a red watercolour pencil and gently blended with a water brush. The silver is gel pen and then to finish I have added rhinestones to the baubles.

That's all from me today. I have another post in a few days so I'm off to brave the post Christmas bargain hunters to get some more Christmas photos printed. Wish me luck!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wow only 1 sleep to go!!!!! How excited is everyone? My Christmas celebrations will be lasting over a week as we catch up with family and friends..I can't wait.
Memory Maze Designs keep coming up with such great designs and I love all their Christmas ones. I've been catching up on some old photos before the ones for this year are taken.
NAUGHTY OR NICE?
Both of the titles on this layout suit my husband and our sons!
Both of these titles go together quite well and the Santa stuck in the chimney was perfect to fit above our own fireplace in the photo! The frame was wrapped in Washi Tape.

This title comes already coloured in the green and applied glitter glue straight over the top. The tree was coloured in with marker pens then gems were adhered on it.

The Santa piece was coloured in with marker pens then coated with crystal glaze. The "snow" is Stickles in Picket Fence.

This title was painted with Smooch in Siren, Green and Solar Gold.

The swirl was misted in gold then embossed in patches with gold embossing powder. Clear Utee was embossed over the whole piece to make it nice and shiny.
All these pieces were quick and easy to do and very effective.

CHRISTMAS

I love the snowflake frame with the inner frame as part of the set. As Christmas in Australia is hot I decided to make the colours I chose warm and not the cool ones normally associated with snow.
The frame was misted with Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold then sprayed in patches over the snowflakes with Radiant Rain Mist in Persimmon and Solar gold. Small pearls were stuck in the middle of the snowflakes.

Since the frame is quite elaborate I kept the embellishments simple to balance it all out. I sprayed white flowers with the same mists so they would match in perfectly.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

The frame was coated with Adiriondack dabber in pearl and the window in Distress Stain in black soot with Distress Stickles in gunmetal. The top part of the frame was covered in Petal Soft in polar white to make it look like snow had settled there. The snowflakes were base coated in Distress Stain in Brushed Pewter and Stickles in frosted lace were applied over the top. The Merry Christmas is already coloured so I  applied Distress Stickles in clear rock candy over the top.

Wishing everyone a very safe and Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2014.

Tracey Campbell's Mid December Reveal

Can you believe there are only 7 sleeps until Christmas? Keeping with this in mind I have dug out some Christmas photos and I have also scrapped a snow layout - just because I would love a white Christmas and know that won't happen here in the middle of our Summer....but I can dream.
Before I show you my Christmas layouts I wanted to send you all a handmade Christmas card, but I know that would have taken me all year to do so I have made one for you all to share.....

Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

Joy

How could I not scrap our first Christmas photo for 2013?? It is now a family tradition for Bronte and Paige to climb up on to Santa's knee, whisper in his ear and then smile a big cheesy smile for the camera.
My first time trying out the coloured chipboard from Memory Maze - love it! So easy to use and so fast. I simply decorated with some Kindy Glitz and  viola a beautiful tree.
This coloured Christmas tree came pre etched so I added a blob of Kindy Glitz and whipped off the excess and the glitter stayed in the etching marks.
I wanted to add some bling to the chipboard title "Joy" so out came the clear rhinestones and I added them one a time until I had a "pimped" up joy.

Treasured Moments

Here is my "dreaming of a white Christmas" layout and as close as we will get to a white Christmas for some years to come - it is a layout of Bronte and Paige playing in the snow dome at Dream World Thailand.
A close up of the two different snow flakes I have used on the layout - the smaller one is embossed white and then hit with layer upon layer of white glitter and Dimensional Magic, then I used white brad to secure it to the page. The larger snow flake is pre etched with a fine dainty design which I really wanted to show so I used a thin layer of gesso over it and then attached some light blue rhinestones.
For the title of the layout I have used a chipboard word title and in honour of snow I painted it white and let the fine detail of the font shine through. That is the quality of Memory Mazes designs, you really do not have to do much to them to make them the star of the show.

Santa Let Me Explain

A few photos of our first Christmas here in Darwin - that explains why the girls are in Nappies only and if you can look past the girls you will see that it is also still dark....the girls were super excited to see what Santa brought that they were up before the sun.

Once again I have used some of the coloured chipboard this time for the title "Santa Let Me Explain" if you are looking for a quick and simple way to make your titles, well then look no further. The coloured chipboard titles and shapes are it. Use them as they are or add a little bit of embellishment, you really can't go wrong.

I loved the Holly Boarder that I got this month, but I really wanted some individual holly decorations so I simply snipped them apart to use. Now I have a ton of them for the rest of my layouts and cards. I gave them some colour with a bit of water paint.
Another chipboard word title used on this layout - really if you have not checked out all the titles in the store then you are simply missing out. So many to choose from and if you can not find the perfect one then ask Sally and I am sure she will be happy to design one for you. This one I gave an ombre effect to by simply painting on some Gelatos and watering down the Gelato for each word.
How cute is this Christmas Tree? Cut out and etched baubles on it with little candy canes and presents too = the perfect addition to any Christmas layout or card.
