Amanda Lawrence - November Part 2

Hi all! I'm back with some more layouts to share with you all this month. With Christmas less than a month away, it's really time to get last years pics scrapped if you haven't already. There are so many photos taken on Christmas Day it can be a bit overwhelming to work out just what to do with them all. They don't need to be traditional Christmas style colours or chipboard to showcase them, in fact none of mine is Christmas specific but it worked perfectly with my photos as you will soon see.

Fairy Princess

I bought my daughter this cute Christmas Fairy costume to wear to my sons Christmas concert at school. I got a quick snapshot of her playing with the tree before we left. Our tree was decorated in aqua blue and lime, and with her red dress I needed to make the colour scheme suit.

I used the Fairy Princess chipboard title which I coloured with watercolour paints and then added a layer of rock candy stickles. I finished off with a few adhesive rhinestones on the stars for some added sparkle.

I framed the photo with the vintage circle frame which was simply given a coat of gesso. This was mounted on the picket fence panels to give dimension. The fence panels are coloured with some chalk ink.

I just couldn't bear to part with the teeny tiny stars that popped out of the title. There were only two but by gently separating the layers of chipboard with my fingernails I was able to double that to four! These were also given a coat of chalk ink to match the fence.

The Cousins Together for Christmas

This layout is traditional looking but I didn't use any Christmas chipboard. It's a photo of all the cousins together on Christmas Day.

I used the 'Cousins' title and also a mini script word 'together' to make up my title for the page. I framed the title using one of the smaller frames from the Pinked Edge Circle pack.

One of the larger frames from the same pack was perfect for surrounding my photo. This was also the space where I added my main embellishment cluster.

Thanks for popping in and be sure to check back often. The design team have plenty more inspiration to get those Christmas photos scrapped!

November Post from Susan

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas! In case you haven't checked lately, Memory Maze has loads of great Christmas chipboard for Scrapbooking, card making and off the page projects. Not only does the Christmas chipboard look great on your projects but you can also alter their other chipboard to make it Christmassy! I have some examples to show you today so enjoy.
SANTA PHOTO
It took awhile for my grandson not to be afraid of sitting on Santas knee and have his photo taken. Now he stops and poses whenever he sees a camera!!

This wreath started out as plain chipboard and not even a Christmas piece but with a bit of green acrylic paint mixed with some PVA glue and a pile of green glitter on top and left to dry then add some stick on pearls......then WOW!...Christmas wreath. The gold doilley underneath the wreath just adds a bit of brightness to the layout.

The words precious and memories were decorated the same way. I used green, dark green and red marker pens to shade the chipboard. Dimensional Magic coated on top gave the words a nice shiny finish.

CHRISTMAS PHOTO SHOOT
I decided to do a photo shoot one year( and never again!) outside in our yard for family photos for our Christmas cards.......Well between my hubby and 2 sons it was adventure! I finally had a family shot that was worth printing and decided (I still hadn't learnt my lesson yet!) to take individual shots.
This is my younger son who talks non stop so I just kept taking photos until I had one where he stopped for breath and smiled. It was a fun afternoon because we all spent time together decorating the tree, playing Christmas music and eating Christmas goodies. That's what I love about scrapbooking.....it keeps those memories alive.

I have taken a real liking to the Memory Maze frames and they seem to have one for all occassions. It also makes a layout come together quicker. The frames can be used as one piece or cut apart to use as many different pieces. With this frame I added more pieces onto it. The more the merrier!
The square part of the frame was painted with white crackle paint and the other parts were painted using distress stain and luminare paints.
The sayings were painted with Luminare paints in Bronze Medallion. These were layered onto the frame to add extra touches.

The candle was painted with white crackle paint and the other parts were painted with Smooch and Luminare paints.

To have clearer, brighter colours with the paint you can undercoat the chipboard with white gesso.

I like to paint the chipboard with a brush because you can blend the colours more easily and be more exact where the paint/medium goes. The fob watch was added onto the frame.

Linda's DT post

Hello Linda here with you all today to share some more Memory Maze Goodness with you all.

I have been enjoying creating small canvas's filled with lots of chipboard and today is no exception.

This canvas is 30cm x 10cm

First I started off with spraying the edges with glimmer mist then covered the front in distressed paper.

I then added a layer of tulle and a smaller piece of stitched paper, tucking in small paper off cuts under the edges. Then filled it with chipboard and Scrappers Garden flowers.

Memory Maze swirls from the wheel barrow set has been coated in a black embossing powder.

A second swirl on the other side of the canvas.

Oval Ornate chipboard frame has been painted with gesso them sprayed with glimmer mist, I then stamping a script stamp with versa mark and added black embossing powder to give it a raised pattern.

Inspire chipboard word has also been coated in black embossing powder along with a smaller Love word.

Tracey Campbell's Mid November Reveal

Hope you all have been joining in on our first ever challenge??? What you haven't had time yet?? Well good thing that there is still time left. Here are the details; We are looking for creative ways to use a word or words from the Memory Maze range and we will send the same prize to the retailer where the winner purchased their Memory Maze words. Upload your layout onto our Blog. Good luck to all.
Now onto my layouts where I have used some of the large range of chipboard word titles.

Beauty

A layout of Bronte and Paige. I struggle to get good photos of them together as they are both so very active and never sit still close together often. So if they get dressed up to go anywhere I grab the camera and try to get them together - but it usually ends up with an awkward photo with one of them pulling a weird face or both of them grumpy. But for once I managed to get a nice shot.

The word title I have used for this layout is "Beauty" and let me tell you it is a beauty.... the font script for the word is perfect, such a delicate flow to it.

I used a simple technique for all the chipboard on this layout - I drowned it in Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine to get that beautiful gold effect. Let me tell you by the time I had finished drowning it was soaked and because Memory Maze is made from a great quality chipboard there was no buckling or warping at all.

One of the great things about Memory Maze chipboard it the fine detailed cuts - this boarder is so fine and delicate cut and the detail is wonderful.

Daddy Loves this Girl

A layout about Adrian with Paige. So different in looks and personalities but they both are as stubborn and pigheaded as each other at times it drives me crazy.

I have used three different word titles with this layout "Daddy", "love", and "girl" as I wanted the words to look like part of the background I painted them with white Gesso and added a touch of sweetness with the three hearts.

The chipboard chicken wire is perfect for using as background texture - add texture paste and Gelatos to colour and then spray with some mist.

The small arrows are the perfect size for adding part of the title for emphasis
