Amanda Lawrence - May DT Share

Hi Memory Maze readers! I'm back with you today to share some more of my creations using the delicious Memory Maze chipboard. My first project is based on an Inspired Blueprints sketch.

Something so sweet about you

I began with the background. I used a sheet of paper to make the heart mask and positioned it around a sticker of the word 'you'. I first applied ink and then some stamping being careful not to move the mask. When I was done I removed the mask and the word sticker and highlighted the design with a black pen outline.

My title was made up with mixed font but included the chipboard word 'sweet'. I also used a small chipboard heart in one of the embellishment clusters which I covered with washi tape.

The chipboard butterfly got a light coat of ink and then some black pen to highlight the outline.

A close up of the main embellishment cluster and journaling.

Hello there Sonshine

I am loving all the little micro pieces from Memory Maze. These little film reels are perfect to pop on just about and page! Just a light coat in ink was all it needed.

I also used an arrow from the arrow pack which again, just a light coat of ink before wrapping it with some cotton.

 Waves

I love the swirly scroll shapes of all the wrought iron pieces available. There are so many designs to choose from and I loved this one to emulate the rolling waves at the beach.

I gave it a 'beachy' effect by adding an uneven coat of gesso and then lightly sanding some sections back.

I also gave the background cardstock a beachy feel with masking, stamping and some splatters.

Sanding and scratching around the edges of the photos also added to the weathered look of the page.

Memory Maze products:
Wrought Iron 28 - S0412

Other products used:
Graphic 45 cardstock, Echo park papers, paper doiley, D-lish Scraps - Flair, paper flowers, sequins and starfish cabochons, Journal It's by Star library card and library pocket template, ink, gesso, mist, pen.

Marvellous May Moments

Welcome to some marvellous May moments from Susan....just as the weather here is beginning to cool, it is a great reason to stay indoors and catch up on some scrapbooking and craft! I hope everyone enjoyed our blog hop and that you found some great inspiration from it. Here are a couple of more ideas...
ADVENTURE
This camping trip was our "adventure". The word was painted with Lumiere in Halo-violet gold.
I hand stamped the tickets and cut them out and layered them with the other elements. The big tags were made by dripping distress reinkers onto the craft mat and pressing the tags onto the ink. The edges of the tags were inked.

The flourish swirls were painted with Lumiere in Halo blue gold and when dry they were topeed with Distress Stickles with crushed olive. The flourishes were mounted on top of die cut swirls. Strips of patterned paper and hand stitching decorated the background card. I find it easier to hand stich onto card and paper if the holes are prepunched first. It may take a little longer but it makes it easier to sew.

BELIEVE
Firstly, a quick apology for the photography on this...must have had my head leaning over or something!! I must admit I wasn't too sure what I was going to do with this chair at first....Then I saw this photo and knew it would fit perfectly. To make the "frame" piece I cut patterened paper into 4 strips and used a border punch along the outer edge then mitred the ends so they would fit together into a frame. They were mounted with foam tape to lift it off the bacground paper. White rubons were used on the corners of the background page.

To decorate the chair, I looked at Santas chair in the photo for some inspiration. Firstly I put the chair in an embossing folder and ran it through the Bigshot machine. The cushion of the chair was coloured with red Tombow marker, the back of the chair was coloured with Smooch in gold and the rest of the chair was coloured with distress stain in bronze. Once it was all dry I stuck on pearl dots.

For the flower cluster I used the 3D stackums sheet and cut out some of the flowers seperately. These were embellished with paper flowers, glitter glue and pearl dots.

FUN IN THE SUN
With this layout I was looking for a relaxed grungy feel. The great thing with chipboard is that it can be altered to fit in with what you want on your project.

Texture paste was applied as a base coat on this piece and left to dry. I debated whether to sprinkle sand onto this for texture but decided to colour it instead with yellow acrylic paint. The orange was painted on using sparkling H2O's. It was left to dry( you can speed this up by using a heat gun) and then distress stickles were smeared over it.

"Family" was painted with Sparkling H2O's with rock candy Distress Stickles smeared over the top. It was layered onto some muslin for a beachy feel. Pearl swirls were added to mimic shells and waves.

Paint,inks,mist and lots of inspiration!

Hi everyone, this is Julene with a mixture this month.
First a monochromatic layout featuring our big doiley, painted yellow, which I used to represent the sun. I stitched radiating rays coming out from it. Here's a close up.
Product code LO121
Next I've used a corner scroll with a vintage layout.
Here's the close up.

And my layout. I misted the scroll with Tattered Angels "Sugar maple" mist.
Product Code L0085
This is part of a 2 page layout, but on this page I used Candles S0609.
I inked using gold and silver then doodled the flame in the centre and the illumination around it.

On this next one I've inked owls in 2 different colours.
Their tummies very conveniently pop out for easy inking.
Colours used were pinecone and orange.
And my close up

Micro Owls round S0637

Finally, I've made a 3D stackum Iris card.
This is called Blue Lily  and is DS0131

Don't forget our blog hop which closes on 26th May so get in quick!
Part of this is a giveaway on my blog.http://julenebydesign.blogspot.com
